CALLING ALL 'BEAR' ARTISTS!
By checking out the story,
Who Is The Greatest Elk Artist That Ever Lived? currently on the home page of
Wildlife Art Journal, readers are treated to an incredible—if incomplete—assemblage of historic and contemporary celebrations of the mighty wapiti. It is also a helpful visual reference for artists, collectors and wildlife lovers of the different ways elk have been interpreted. And it will always be available in our archives for subscribers to use as a ready resource.
As part of WAJ's next installment in its ongoing series, "One Species At A Time," the magazine now is seeking the best ursid imagery—yes, portrayals of bears as in black, brown (grizzly), polar, panda. In addition to North American artists,
Wildlife Art Journal welcomes submissions from international artists no matter where you live.
Works can be new or old, recently completed or sold. They can be in any style: traditional or non-traditional, photo-realistic, abstract, tribal, religious, or conceptual in any medium that can be illustrated with a picture. Please limit to one per artist.
Images can be emailed in low resolution jpg format to editor@wildlifeartjournal.com but please include title of the work, dimensions, and medium.
Museum curators: send us some of the significant bear pieces in your collection from artists no longer with us and we'll provide a hotlink back to your site (it's good publicity for readers who may want to check them out by paying a visit to your institution).
Living artists: Don't be squeamish or shy. This is an opportunity to show your work and be recognized.
Artist bloggers: We need your help and are most appreciate with your assistance in spreading the word far and wide to other artists.
Along with bears, we will continue to accept submissions for our rapidly expanding "elk gallery".
