Original Painting Used For Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival Portrayed Grizzly 399
A Dwayne Harty oil painting portraying a famous grizzly bear family and featured on the 2011 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival poster sold for $36,000 at auction on Saturday, Sept. 17.
The piece, "Strength and Vulernability", is a depiction of a real-life grizzly sow with three cubs that first became a sensation for wildlife watchers in Grand Teton National Park in 2007. The title is a reference to the life and death saga of the ursid clan.
