Peace.

Wildlife Art Journal magazine's Gallery of the Commons is back as we turn the corner on another year.  As many of us remember 2011 with a sigh—of accomplishment, making new acquaintances, struggling with uncertainty in the economy, yearning to do better, and sadly, the loss of old friends—the art of nature can lift us up.

Once again, Gallery of the Commons features a scattershot of paintings, sculpture, and photographs from around the world.  We've found no reason to temper our conviction that wildlife as a motif has a powerful symbolic, metaphoric and allegoric presence in the 21st century.  It reflects how we live, what we value, the capacity of our compassion, and our good fortune that we call this spinning orb home.
